The West Salem Art Hotel and friends plan an interactive Halloween art music festival ON THE GROUNDS OF the ART hotel AND West Salem Public House. We will be utilizing the historic two-acre area of this beloved West Salem neighborhood. In the community spirit, we are uniting a local collection of art, maker, and vintage vendors, including live musicians, accompanied by visual and performing art, workshops, and demonstrations led by artists and non-profit organizations.
This YEAR'S event will include AMAZING PERFORMANCES PERFORMANCES, costume CONTESTS, delicious food vendors, BEER AND BEVERAGE OPTIONS, OUR SPOOKY GHOUL MOON MAZE and more family-friendly amusement. The six-hour event will unfold into the evening, where we can watch THE DAY SINK INTO NIGHT AS THE moon riseS over exquisite farmland under colorful string lights.
The Ghoul Moon Festival will be on, October 24th, 2026 from 4 pm-10 pm on the Albert and Green St. block in West Salem.
The West Salem Art Hotel, , and West Salem Public House are excited to host this magical inaugural event!

We are looking for local, community-based businesses and organizations to join us as partners.
We will offer our supporters Rewards based on the level of contribution.

West Salem Art Hotel/Full Moon Festival
Haydee Thompson is the Founder/curator/designer of the West Salem Art Hotel. Haydee is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a degree in Drama. After graduation in the early '90s, she moved to NYC to pursue an acting career and found herself as a personal assistant to artist/musician David Byrne. Haydee spent over a decade in the Big Apple until, shortly after 9/11, she decided to move back to Winston-Salem and into the Wherehouse, an Artist and Music collective located in the abandoned downtown. In 2003 she and her fellow artists purchased a 1971 charter bus, converted it to run on vegetable oil, and toured the country for three months with a variety show. Eventually, Haydee turned the Wherehouse into her first Art Hotel with much success. In March of 2021, she moved the location of the Art Hotel and rebranded it under the current name of the West Salem Art Hotel.
