Full Moon Festival
The West Salem Art Hotel and friends plan an interactive art and agriculture festival at the hotel, West Salem Public House, and Apple & Green Farm. We will be utilizing the historic two-acre area of this beloved West Salem neighborhood. In the spirit of community, we are uniting a local collection of art, maker, and vintage vendors, including live musicians, accompanied by visual and performing art, workshops, and demonstrations led by artists and non-profit organizations.
This event will include games, a costume trunk, face painting, and more family-friendly amusement. The six-hour event will unfold into the evening, where we can watch 2022's harvest moon rise over exquisite farmland under colorful string lights. There will be an assortment of delicious food options from local pop-ups, food trucks, and yummy beer and beverages.
The Full Moon Festival will be on the Harvest Moon, September 10, 2022, from 4 pm-10 pm on the block of Albert and Green St. in West Salem.
The West Salem Art Hotel, Apple and Green Farm, and West Salem Public House are excited to host this magical inaugural event!

Our Team

Haydee Thompson is the owner/curator/designer of the West Salem Art Hotel. Haydee is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a degree in Drama. After graduation in the early '90s, she moved to NYC to pursue an acting career and found herself as a personal assistant to artist/musician David Byrne. Haydee spent over a decade in the Big Apple until, shortly after 9/11, she decided to move back to Winston-Salem and into the Wherehouse, an Artist and Music collective located in the abandoned downtown. In 2003 she and her fellow artists purchased a 1971 charter bus, converted it to run on vegetable oil, and toured the country for three months with a variety show. Eventually, Haydee turned the Wherehouse into her first Art Hotel with much success. In March of 2021, she moved the location of the Art Hotel and rebranded it under the current name of the West Salem Art Hotel.

Tessa Everton is a local artist and designer who has worked for herself as a professional paint contractor, event coordinator, stained glass company, and personal assistant. She also has an extensive background in the service and hospitality industry, which taught her how to anticipate the needs of groups, understand time management, juggle tasks and work under pressure. Tessa has years of experience not only planning markets but also vending in them selling vintage goods and handmade stained glass artwork. She graduated from Salem College with a BA in Design in 2017, and to this day enjoys curating spaces.

Lindsay Piper Potter-Figueiredo, designer and maker of Piper + Fig, is originally from Jackson, MS, and grew up in Winston-Salem, NC. A lover of art, art history + curating, she finds time to engage with all of her passions. In 2018, she moved back to the US, after she spent a year in Scotland for graduate school. After Scotland, she roamed around Lisbon, Portugal for nearly a year. Her "past life" is often reflected in her current work. She brings a bit of culture and a fresh, earthy, minimalistic look to her collections.
